Ink Parade, in this cold weather???

Its chilly here and my studio isn't warming up, coat, gloves on for the first two hours I was here. Youch! The temp is 0 degrees but it feels like -20 with the wind. Holy cow, this is January weather! Ok, on to something warmer and more delightful, art! Have a good week and those in MN, stay warm! Amy

Hello Everybody! Here are some images I created. Enjoy them and stay away from judgment, especially of these images! The first one is called "Casting a spell" and was created using the lemon juice wash, that's where it got that great texture. The second image is inspired by some judgment thrown my way. While I'm good with that and can see it for what it is, I couldn't help writing a victim statement alongside the image! That made me laugh and made it even more alright!

I'm back! Here are some inks from last week and a new technique!

I had a salad at the studio with a lemon wedge that I brought for lunch. I decided to put lemon drops on the page and then lay the ink. It released the ink!!!! So this week I am going to try painting with the lemon juice and then lay ink on the page for a release effect. (This is the dot image) I also made a bunch of funny and roughly sketched characters. Here is a Scottish Man with a golf club arm? You decide!

Beyond Belief, a walk for peace

Inking my way through Mondays!

Monday is the day for me to make art each week. I get all of my errands run and catching up caught in the morning hours. Then around 1pm I roll into the studio in lowertown St Paul and am inspired to work on ink drawings on watercolor paper. Here are some I made today.

The creative club house

After the Crawl the message I heard from the great expanse of universality is to create ink drawings on watercolor paper over the winter months. This sounds so fun and helped me to establish my title for this post. I feel like this type of creation comes right from my inner child and is a way where we, together hunker in and get silly! My studio space, a smaller space within a larger one has a quality of a tree house of sorts. I have an arched window in my space that is likely two times as tall as I am. After the St Paul Art Crawl my husband Tom helped me to pack the space well so I have more room to create. I can't wait to get there next Monday and make some new drawings!
