Peace Is Abundant Images 21-25

The images are on 30x40" canvas on a 3/4" stretcher bar. To see all of the images on one page visit www.amycernyvasterling.com Click on the Peace Is Abundant link. Twenty-One: “What you want already exists” Again, quantum physics. It is not a surprise its trickled into my expression as an artist. My friend has a bumper sticker which reads, “It is the freaky people who change the world.” Its possible this includes me!
Twenty-two: “Time to let go” This image is an incomplete composition. An image in process. It is a reminder about our muse or metamorphic guidance. If you notice my muse (my father who recently passed two weeks prior to the image being made) visited and then showed up in my ink expression in the upper left corner. It took me two weeks to understand why I couldn’t find a way to complete the composition. My muse is with me in physical form and when I know how to complete the composition I will be at a different stage in my art and my life.NFS
Twenty-three: “Energy Exchange=Growth” It shows a small foothold on the earth, however, it reaches up and branches out. The floating seed is a reminder about the beginning. We start somewhere and keep going until we take root. Also, like these plants we need to trust our footing, no matter how slight.
Twenty-four: “Through Towertown” This was formed by placing ink and working it with a ribbed water bottle. I was surprised to find, this composition turned out like a painting of a European hillside. It feels French to me but if not I suspect it could be San Gimignano, Italy. “The town of fine towers.” And my mom says kind of funny toilets but there’s no potty talk in this catalog so I’m done.
Twenty-five: “Outside of the you, you ‘know’ “ This also was created using a water bottle. The bottom of the bottle was used to make the circular form. It looks like an ocean. I also see it could be the layering to reach something. The base could be solid or not. This is a constant metaphor in the human experience. We need to release the how and remember the answer is always in the contrast. When we listen to ourselves and follow our inner guidance we get to know the ‘us’ we truly are.

Peace Is Abundant 16-20

The images are on 30x40" canvas on a 3/4" stretcher bar. To see all of the images on one page visit www.amycernyvasterling.com Click on the Peace Is Abundant link. Sixteen: “Mama” The textural confusion and beauty of motherhood and generational relationships which hold silent expectation of nurture and nourishment. However, many here today find themselves fleshing out a heaping helping of generational energy, working to shift so dramatically that the next generation is free from this history of the lie that we’ve carried for now centuries.
Seventeen: “Creating the sea horse first” Ok, so here was a BIG shift. For 20 years I’ve been using an eye dropper to make ink drawings on canvas and/or water color paper. I shot the ink out of the dropper and it created these very interesting patterns. Again, this is an image I kept to show the transformation. In this I was thinking about quantum physics, revealing the unseen~that there is energy which we can solicit that we can’t yet prove or see.
Eighteen: “In the Mystery” I understand that we have beliefs which when we surrender them we walk from the “myth” into the mystery. This is a time when nothing makes much sense. So we are stripped of that old belief and are learning to form a new belief in its place. In doing so we bump around and this can be lonely work. However, when clarity is shed on this process we have reached the “miracle” and this is pure bliss. Sometimes I tell myself “in hindsight this will all make a great deal of sense.” It reminds me to have perspective and stay focused on “What is”.
Nineteen: “Quantum Entanglement” The energy between the atoms which cannot be seen or proven. Here’s my vision of what the unseen looks like.
Twenty: “Time to Create, with a deliberate heart.” This painting reminds our inner child to express itself and create. No thought, using the heart to speak our truth which in trusting reminds us we are limitless. I placed the ink on the canvas and then went to hunt down a straw. After chatting with people during my search I found the ink had already dried in spots. Unlike many artists, I prefer limitation; it pushes my creativity farther, hands down! Pun INTENDED! This work feels partial to me, in a way it feels complete but partial. I am curious what work bridges to this piece to make it whole. I am no stranger to blowing in with a straw, when I first started doing ink drawings I often blew trees or other forms. This time I went above the ink and blew down onto it. Great result!

Peace Is Abundant 11-15

The images are on 30x40" canvas on a 3/4" stretcher bar. To see all of the images on one page visit www.amycernyvasterling.com Click on the Peace Is Abundant link. Eleven: “Embrace” I made a painting called “Authenticity which is not a part of this body of work. However, it inspired many ink drawings on canvas which follow #11. In “Embrace” the clearly executed lines show the interaction to be clean, the color choices and placement lend to our expectations about what love is and how it feels and looks. Maybe my true desire is to give a message about living from expectancy vs. expectation. "Embrace" 11
Twelve: -Untitled- In this series (as I am writing this I have completed about 50 canvases) I see some of the canvases and have a bit of fear to share them. This is one! I’ve felt it out and my decision is to show the progression, the good, the bad & the ugly. It is not for me to judge, every creation has a home and selling art is like finding a match in the purchase of a home. It must speak to a really deep inner part of us and every canvas has the opportunity. There also is a concept about an inner goblin, that voice which tells you to do things that really aren’t good for you. Maybe this is mine. Untitled (12)
Thirteen: “Fish Market” I was headed to bed one night and saw this image. I got up and drew it out, then in the coming week drew it with ink. It is simple circles, the style is a bit naïve but the busy feel is picked up even in the simplicity. "Fish Market" 13
Fourteen: I made this and had a laugh. It looks like a puppet from Sesame Street, a favorite show as a child. I think it was giving my hands to my inner child in doing this work. As you’ll see in the next images the style pulls tighter and I have had success in making paintings in this style. One of which is “Wild Child” under “Oils” on my website. "Allowing the heart" 14
Fifteen: “Perception” Our perceptions are driven by resistance to our past and anxiety about the future. When we approach life from the present we achieve something greater in our experience, peace. If we continue operating from a state of fear, this serves no one. The character in the middle of the image is viewing his right hand, he’s showing a ‘cool exterior” that he is fine, yet his head is not so well attached to his body, what he knows is changing and he’s unsure what to trust, unsure if this newness in his hand positive for him. "Self Perception" 15

Peace Is Abundant 6-10

Six: “It’s about Time” a play on words characterizing our impatience as a culture, our desire to know when and how. These concepts are out of our control and when we allow them to fill in for us we find peace.
Seven: “People” In this color field the forms were used to create or “find” the people in the image. Its about the landscape of support, network, relationship, contrast and connection. "People"
Eight: “Let go” When we think about life we really could push more to be vibrant in a way of expression. My cousin Anne said to me, “When women get older they start to wear little things that are quirky. Her example was a pair of white shoes with neon green laces. Why not at every age? This painting is a reminder to express yourself, be yourself and come back to your truth because if you do, others will and that is big! "Let go"
Nine: “Connection” An ‘off’ palette of primary colors fills the connected circles. What appears to be a random line connects them. In the absence of free will we have absolute connection. In following our play we activate the connection, which stimulates synchronicity. "Connection"
Ten: “Articulate” Maybe this painting is more personal because it articulates its own meaning when I look at it. It is not spoken but a feeling, for me of calm, of something I know but doesn’t look like anything specific. I suspect I trust it will connect with others and ‘articulate’ for them also. "Articulate"

Peace Is Abundant Images 1-5

The images are on 30x40" canvas on a 3/4" stretcher bar. To see all of the images on one page visit www.amycernyvasterling.com Click on the Peace Is Abundant link. One: “Playful” This painting sets the tone to jump into many styles and ideas. I love color and using an ink line. I drew many sketches for the start of this project and this is one that made the cut. There is a lizard hiding at the bottom of the painting. Many of these first sketches were drawn while listening to live jazz music in St Louis, MO or Eagan, MN.
Two: “The Sea Waits” A painting about the simplicity of the sea but how in this time nature is watching us to see what unfolds. I think the sea waits and responds in proportion to us. For this painting using a large field of pink yields to the energy shift we are entering into feminine energy being the greater pull. 2 "The Sea Waits"
Three: “Watching Over You” This painting is about how perhaps there is not something so serious about life. That something greater watching over us is playful. The feather-like form tickles the nose on the power line eyes connected to a system of systems. I believe in life the answer is always in the contrast so I chose the main form (in orange) to be set against the large field of blue, its compliment and greatest contrast. 3 "Watching over you"
Four: “Jazz Music” Just as it sounds, the music flows out of the musicians instruments and hands and into my ear and out my pen. The image is vibrant like the music. 4 "Jazz Music"
Five: “This is how it works” In this logical world, we forget the physicality, which is made available to us. We can run, move, eat, laugh~loudly! So this is the blue print for play, an image with shape and composition to support our logical minds but movement and colors spice it up bringing the fun! 5 "This is how it works"
